چکیده
Abstract This paper presents a unified outlook on the syntax of constructions featuring reflexive clitic se , with particular emphasis uniform morphosyntax Hungarian element -ik treated as an exponent both in verbal domain and nominal (in ordinal numeral constructions). The analysis is couched predication proposed Den Dikken (2006) represented subject reverse predication.

Stretched, jumped, and fell: An fMRI investigation of reflexive verbs and other intransitives
This study used fMRI to inform a debate between two theories concerning the representation of reflexive verbs. Reflexives are verbs that denote an action that the subject applies on herself (e.g., The woman stretched). These verbs are derived by a lexical operation that creates a reflexive from its transitive counterpart. Theories differ with respect to which thematic role is reduced by the lex...
متن کاملReflexives and TAG Semantics
Nesson and Shieber (2006) argue that the synchronous TAG (STAG) formalism provides an empirically adequate, yet formally restrictive solution to the problem of associating semantic interpretations with TAG derivations. In this paper, I further explore this approach, focusing on the semantics of reflexives. I find that STAG indeed permits a simple analysis of core cases of reflexives. This analy...
متن کاملIntuitionistic Sets and Ordinals
Transitive extensional well founded relations provide an intuitionistic notion of ordinals which admits transfinite induction. However these ordinals are not directed and their successor operation is poorly behaved, leading to problems of functoriality. We show how to make the successor monotone by introducing plumpness, which strengthens transitivity. This clarifes the traditional development ...
متن کاملAlgebraic Ordinals
An algebraic tree T is one determined by a finite system of fixed point equations. The frontier Fr(T) of an algebraic tree T is linearly ordered by the lexicographic order < ℓ. If (Fr(T) < ℓ) is well-ordered, its order type is an algebraic ordinal. We prove that the algebraic ordinals are exactly the ordinals less than ω ω ω .
متن کاملTrees, Ordinals and Termination
Trees are a natural representation for countable ordinals. In particular, nite trees provide a convenient notation for the predicative ones. Processes that transform trees or terms can often be proved terminating by viewing the tree or the tree representation of the term as an ordinal.
